Dumpster sizes

Which dumpster size do you need?

We keep it simple with two sizes. Both have the same 7′ × 14′ footprint, so either one fits a standard driveway. The difference is wall height, which gives the 17 yard 4 more yards of space.

Pick by project

13 yard

Garage or basement cleanout

One garage, one basement or a storage unit’s worth of stuff.

13 yard

Roof tear-off

Up to about 20 squares of shingles. Shingles are heavy, so the weight limit decides, not the space.

13 yard

One-room renovation

A bathroom or kitchen gut, or flooring for a room or two.

13 yard

Yard cleanup

Brush, branches and general yard debris.

17 yard

Whole-house cleanout

Moving, downsizing or clearing out an estate.

17 yard

Multi-room remodel

Cabinets, drywall, flooring and framing from several rooms.

17 yard

Construction debris

Mixed construction and demolition debris from a bigger job.

17 yard

Bulky furniture and junk

Couches, tables and other bulky items that take up space.

Tips for choosing

Heavy or bulky?

Space and weight are two different limits. Bulky, light items like furniture and household junk fill space, so size up. Heavy items like shingles fill the weight limit first, so a bigger box won’t help. You’ll just pay $80 per ton over the limit.

Between sizes?

For cleanouts and remodels, go with the 17 yard. The price difference is smaller than the cost of a second haul.
